Projects 2000-Present > Residential Transom Windows

Transom windows sit on top of the horizontal beam above a door. According to Architectural Digest, they have been around since the 14th century. Here in New Orleans, where I live, many houses have transom windows. They let in natural light and add to the historic charm of the house.

I’ve also done transom windows for interior spaces, ranging from private homes to a whole series of them for the Maine Dept. of Conservation in Augusta, ME. Please see the separate listing for more on that project.

My transom windows use beautiful handmade mouthblown glass from Germany, France and England. They can include handpainted, photo-silkscreened and sandblasted images, all with fired in pigments.
